Former Assistant Chief and Chief Financial Officer (CFO)Grant Gaspard has been charged after being arrested by the FBI. He should have been arraigned today, probably in Federal court on charges of embezzlement. He worked for South King Fire and Rescue until July 31st, 2008. This all comes amid a scandal involving the former Assistant Chief Pat Kettenring who remains on an unknown employment status with full pay and benefits after secretly hiring his girlfriend (while he was married to another woman) as a firefighter. Kettenring is now married to that woman who since left South King Fire and Rescue and was subsequently fired by Central Pierce Fire and Rescue after failing to perform in the recruit academy. Kettenring apparently gets a full Assistant Chief paycheck from South King Fire while working as a building inspector in Pierce County. What the heck is going on at South King Fire and Rescue?
