This year during all the wild shenanigans that make up the 30th Annual Ballard SeafoodFest, Secret Garden Bookshop is doing something a little different. They have unearthed the voluminous trove of children's book posters they've been assiduously collecting since 1995 and are offering them up for sale on a pay-what-you-like basis as a benefit for Page Ahead. As a suggestion, $6.96 buys one paperback picture book for the children Page Ahead buys books for.

Live music by the Sourmash Stevedores, BBQ by Smokin' Petes BBQ, beverages donated by Pyramid and Caffe Appassionato. Fun Ballard-themed raffle, prizes and silent auction items from The Deadliest Catch captains. Tickets $50 per person. 21 and older.

Seattle Parks and Recreation and Site Workshops will present the preferred schematic design of the West Seattle Reservoir Park project at Westcrest.

Over the last year the community has participated in the design process for this new park space and they are encourage to come to this meeting, see the design and provide final input.  read more »

The World Harmony Run is a global relay that will be passing through Seattle on its way through all 50 states.

The runners, who are carrying a flaming torch as a symbol of harmony, plan to arrive at The Mount at 2 p.m. for a short ceremony.

Providence Mount St. Vincent administrator Charlene Boyd will accept a “Torch-Bearer Award” to honor her commitment to promoting harmony between generations and between cultures in our community.

Everyone is welcome to participate and carry the torch for a few steps around The Mount.
