New precinct hours scheduled for Des Moines south station

Monday, June 30, 2008

New service hours at the Des Moines Police Department's south station will better serve the needs of the community, Chief Roger Baker said in announcing the changes.

The department's south station is now open Mondays 9 a.m.-noon, Tuesdays noon-3 p.m., Wednesdays 2-5 p.m. and Fridays 3-6 p.m. Located next to Safeway at Pacific Highway South and South 272nd Street, the police station will be open for filing on-line reports, and the staff on duty at the counter will be able to provide basic information and resources.

Copies of police and accident reports and pet and concealed pistol licenses still will need to be handled at the main Des Moines Police Service Center at 21900 11th Ave. S.
