Centerstage received $10,000 operations grant

Monday, June 30, 2008

Centerstage is pleased to announce the award of a $10,000 Grant from the Seattle Foundation to help cover the Federal Way Theatre Company's operating expenses through the 2008-2009 season.

The grant is paid from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, created by a gift to the Seattle Foundation.

This is the second time in the last two years that the Federal Way Theatre Company has received a comparable award from the Seattle Foundation.

"This is a very significant gift to a company of our size," said Centerstage Artistic Director, Alan Bryce. "When compared to our operating budget for the season, this most generous gift makes a very substantial difference."

Centerstage re-opens after its summer break in September, with the perennially popular Always...Patsy Cline.

The season also includes another traditional English "panto," this time it's Aladdin; followed by the Sherlock Holmes mystery, Crucifer of Blood; a visit from Lance Brown out of Chicago to perform Will Rogers Now and the season closes with Centerstage's most ambitious project ever, a musical adaptation of the Jodie Foster movie: Carl Sagan's Contact.
