Track and field
Thomas Jefferson swept a meet from crosstown rival Decatur on Thursday, May 1. The boys defeated the Gators, 88-48, and the Raider girls won, 98-42.

TJ 2, Kentlake 2
Amos Nistrian scored first on the Falcons in the 48th minute of action and Miguel Toscano scored in the 69th minute on a Tyler Hanson assist.
Tahoma 1, Decatur 0
The Gators were blanked by the Bears.
Federal Way 3, K-M 0
Eddie Gomez earned the shutout on goal for the Eagles, and Carter Broussard scored the first goal off an Omar Cruz assist. Andrew Hair scored the second and third goals, both on assists from Cruz.
Beamer 2, Puyallup 1
Alan Kim struck for a goal in the 32nd minute off a Daniel Nam assist, then struck again in the 50th minute on a Troy Peterson assist.

Em. Ridge 8, Beamer 7
Emerald Ridge of Puyallup prevailed against Todd Beamer in a non-league game last Tuesday. Kenny Johnson hit 3-for-4 with one RBI for the Titans in the loss and Kelvin Ketchum hit 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Track and field
South Puget Sound League track and field action opened in Sumner last Wednesday, with some finals settled on the first day.
Andre Barrington of Federal Way took second in the long jump at 21 feet, 10 3/4 inches, just ahead of teammate Josh Waller's 21-4 1/4. Marty Fuller of Todd Beamer was second in the discus at 155-4 just ahead of Evan Cook's 148-5.
Thomas Jefferson's Trenton Pinson won Heat 1 of the 400-meter run in a time of 50.37 seconds and Todd Beamer won Heat 1 of the 400-meter relay in 42.92. Second place in the 3,200 went to Justin Englund in 9:45.34.
On the girls side, Sofia Malumura of TJ won the shot put at 40-7 ahead of teammate Kayla Adams at 38-9. Jaleecia Roland of Federal Way took the high jump at 5-6 and Taylor Kortes of Beamer won the 800 Heat 1 in 2:33.54. Federal Way also took first in the 400 relay in 50.28.
Jordyn Woodke of Decatur took third in the long jump at 16-7 3/4 and TJ's Kendra Ansotigue took second in the javelin at 112-2. Federal Way's Jacqie Evenson won Heat 2 of the 100 hurdles in 15.49.
Boys soccer
TJ 1, Curtis 0
Thomas Jefferson won last Wednesday's SPSL playoff battle in a shootout, taking it by a 5-4 score after both teams were scoreless through regulation time and two five-minute overtimes.
Brian Bosshart had TJ's side of the double shutout.
Scoring the penalty kick goals in the shootout for the Raiders were DJ DeWaele, Tyler Hanson, Derek Moore, Amos Nistrian and Chris Miller.
