Vandals are a real pane, resident tells police

A resident of an apartment complex on 1305 South 312th Street contacted Federal Way police to report that a window in his home was damaged by vandals. Officers examined the window and discovered damaged sustained to the front pane of a double-pane window, a circular hole knocked out of the glass. The police then discovered a ball bearing lodged between the two panes of glass near the hole. The resident determined the damaged to top out around $300. Officers have exhausted all leads and have closed the case pending new information.
Harassment occurs at Federal Way apartment complex
Federal Way police contacted a woman at an apartment complex at 1300 Southwest Campus drive regarding a recent order of protection and harassment. The woman told police that she was threatened bodily harm by a known female and that the suspect had used a gun to threaten her. Federal Way officers contacted the female suspect, who stated that she had not been near the victim. The report also states that the woman said the victim recently got out of jail for making a false statement against her. She told Federal Way officers that the victim was likely making a false statement against her now. Officers were unable to locate a second male suspect involved the case as well.
Violence victim says she misdialed 911
Federal Way officers followed up on a 911 call that originated from an apartment complex on 28606 Pacific Highway South. When they arrived at the scene, officers were greeted by a Hispanic female who did not speak English. Through the language line, the officers were able to determine that the woman was telling them that her 911 call was an accidental misdial and that there were no problems. Another officer spoke with her husband who told police that he and his wife were involved in a verbal argument and that she had, in fact, dialed 911.
Argument breaks out in the parking lot
FWPD officers were dispatched to witness reports of a dispute in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 125 Southwest Campus Drive. The involved parties were contacted and questioned around 11:25 p.m., and the couple stated that they live together and were involved in an argument. Both parties denied that any assault occurred. Officers provided each of them with a domestic violence pamphlet.
Abusive brother-in-law receives citation in mail
A violence victim, who lives in an apartment complex at 35810 16th Avenue South, contacted Federal Way police to report a violent incident involving her brother-in-law. The report states that the suspect slammed the door on the victim's shoulder and then punched the door. The punch caused a 4-inch by 4-inch hole the size of a fist. The suspect left the scene before we arrived, but officers located his physical address and mailed him a citation after collecting a written statement from the victim.
Family suspicious of wanna-be paparazzi
The resident of a home on the 1700 block of Southwest 346th Place contacted Federal Way police to report an unknown male taking pictures of their house and family members, including their children. The resident does not know who would take pictures of them and did not recognize the vehicle. There was a young male also in the vehicle. The caller thought it was a suspicious activity and wanted officers to be aware in case there were other incidents involving the same unknown subject. The resident told police that he did not believe the man, who was driving a silver 1999 Mercedes, was an investigator or a realtor.
Couple argues over woman's ability to take care of her body
Federal Way officers observed a domestic dispute along the sidewalk near 1000 Southwest Campus Drive shortly after 1 p.m. The police located a female seated on the ground and male standing over her. The female was crying and the officers separated them for interviews. Both parties were identified and admitted that they were boyfriend and girlfriend. The female stated that they were having an argument over time management and how she does not take care of her body. One of the officers contacted the male, and he stated that they were disagreeing and he was trying to keep her from going into traffic. Neither party complained of injury.
Officers break up fight between two women
Federal Way police were dispatched to the scene of a domestic dispute between to female roommates on the 2600 block of Southwest 332nd Place shortly after midnight. Officers contacted the individuals and determined that one of them (her name is not mentioned in the report) was the primary aggressor in the assault against her roommate. The victim received fingernail scratches and bite injuries on her left forearm. The primary aggressor was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault and domestic violence.
Police get tough on fireworks
Federal Way officers arrived at the scene of an illegal fireworks complaint at an apartment complex at 2028 South 327th Place, the Waterbury Apartments. Upon arrival, officers witnessed a suspect igniting fireworks in the parking lot in front of his apartment. The suspect stated that he knew it was illegal but thought it was OK since his neighbors were lighting them earlier. The suspect was issued a citation and released on his signature promising to appear in court.
Smash-and-grab sends police on chase for wallet thief
The driver of a new Dodge Magnum contacted police after discovering that an unknown thief had smashed the window of his vehicle and stolen another victim's wallet from on top of the dash. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. at an office building at 2111 Southwest 352nd Street. The suspect attempted to use the stolen credit cards unsuccessfully on several occasions. The Chevron gas station near the scene might have some suspect information, but there are no other leads at this time.
New Year's party busted, toy gun not involved in fight
Federal Way police responded to a call that indicated a fight had broken out at a New Year's party at an apartment complex located at 33340 1st Lane South. The host of the party told police that two of the guests began fighting. A gun was reported at the scene, but the host said that it was only a toy and was not involved in the altercation. One of the suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival. The event took place around 2:45 a.m. on January 1.
Man tells police he was mugged and knocked unconscious
Officers responded to a report of a mugging that took place near 1900 South 288th Street around 4:45 a.m. on January 1. The suspects in the mugging were reported traveling eastbound on South 288th Street, and were not at the scene of the incident. Federal Way police contacted the victim, who stated that he was walking along South 288th Street in an attempt to catch the bus when he was "jumped" by a group of unnamed teenagers. He said he lost consciousness and did not remember much of the attack. He awoke and realized that his wallet was missing. An area check for the suspects turned up negative.
Fight between sisters gets violent, involves police
Federal Way officers responded to a domestic disput call that had taken place shortly after midnight on December 31. The arrived at the scene, an apartment complex located at 2211 South Star Lake Road, and discovered that an argument and fight had taken place between two sisters. One of the girls was 16 and the other 11. The older sister assaulted the 11-year-old, leaving visible marks below one of her eyes and on her neck. Federal Way officers provided the family with a domestic violence pamphlet. The police also arrested the older sister and transported her to Juvenile Detention.
Report of suicidal man involves Federal Way police
Federal Way officers smelled alcohol on the breath of a man who claimed he wanted to commit suicide, the police log reported. The man lives in an apartement complex at 2429 South 273rd Place. The victim reported drinking three 16 ounce beers within the last hour. Since he didn't have a gun, the report continued, the man told Federal Way police that he intended to slice his wrists in order to kill himself. He also told police that he was feeling very depressed because of some relationship issues. Officers obvserved several superficial scratches to the victim's neck. He later told police that he intended to jump off of a bridge instead.
Big 5 Sporting Goods receives mysterious harassing calls
Representatives from the Big 5 sporting goods store, located at 1916 South 320th, contacted Federal Way police to report that several of the staff had received profaine and harassing phone calls. The report states that the employees received various calls from an unknown woman who yelled profainity and uttered nonsense. One of the representatives of Big 5 told the woman to stop calling, but the female continues to call. They are unable to obtain a phone number and requested a case number from Federal Way police so that they can generate a case with the phone company, Granite. The phone calls have been coming in regularly since November 24, 2006.
Man arrested for drug possession after police stop him for parking illegally in a handicapped spot
Around 2:40 p.m. on January 15, Federal Way police reported that they had stopped the driver of a vehicle for parking in a handicapped spot near 1900 South 314th Street. The police contacted the subject, later discovered to be Marcus T. Nelson, for sitting in a parked car in a properly marked handicapped stall without a handicap hanger or license plate. Nelson had two local warrants, which were confirmed by the Federal Way police. Nelson also had an outstanding OSA warrant. Upon searching the vehicle, Federal Way officers discovered drug baggies containing less than 40 grams of an illegal substance. The substance, the officers discovered, was marijuana. Federal Way officers cited Nelson for possession of an illegal substance and arrested him on the outstanding warrants. The vehicle was released to a friend.
Son breaks in and steals vehicle, later crashing it
A woman, who lives on the 31200 block of 13th Avenue South, contacted Federal Way police to report that she woke and found her vehicle missing from her residence. The report came in around 5 p.m. on January 13. She also stated that her 14-year-old son was missing as well. She believes that he gained entry through the playroom window and took the vehicle keys. The police later discovered the vehicle in a parking lot at 28100 Redondo Way about 9 a.m. the next day. The vehicle sustained damage to the front left wheel as a result of hitting a curb.
Officers bust party, cite host with distributing booze and smokes to minors
Federal Way police busted up a party in progress in an apartment located on the 28600 Military Road South. Officers arrived at the scene of the disturbance and spoke with all of the parties involved. An investigation of the area revealed that the suspect had provided a minor with alcohol and tobacco. The suspect was issued a citation for the offense, and promised officers that he would appear in court. The suspect was then released without incident. The event took place around 6:25 a.m. on the morning of January 11.
Craigslist sting of prostitutes disrupted
Federal Way officers participated in a planned sting of prostitutes that were luring in customers via Craigslist online classified ads. The unnamed suspect was arrested at the Extended Stay hotel in Federal Way around 12:26 a.m. on January 12. The suspect was using the hotel as her base of operations and she posted ads several times a day in search of customers for sexual encounters for money. No other information is listed in the report.
Domestic dispute stems from clash in Korean and American values
Federal Way police responded to a 911 call indicating there had been a domestic disturbance with possible violence at an apartment at 29225 Military Road South. Officers arrived at the scene and determined that the dispute was not violent in nature. One of the involved parties, the son, told Federal Way officers that the argument took place because of a clash between his mother's strong traditional values. Her beliefs, the report stated, were in direct conflict with his Americanized views. Both parties are of Korean decent according to the report. Officers did not determine any signs of physical injury and have classified the case as a verbal domestic dispute only. |
