Boys basketball

Federal Way 86, Mount Tahoma 61

Federal Way flew out to a fast start with an 86-61 win in preseason action Monday, Nov. 26.

Jeff Forbes paced the team with 20 points and Aaron Broussard backed him up with 17. Andre Barrington, Cole Dickerson and Isiah Umipig all hit 12.

Em. Ridge 71, TJ 68

Sydney scored 24 points for Thomas Jefferson in the Wednesday, Nov. 28 non-division action as Hunter hit 18 and Moss nine.

Girls basketball

Federal Way 58, Rogers 40

Barrington buried 18 points as the Eagle girls team won its opener Saturday, Nov. 24. Walton and Dixon tossed in 11 apiece.

Mount Tahoma 77, Federal Way 51

Federal Way led, 13-12, after the first quarter but ultimately lost its Monday, Nov. 26 game by a 26-point margin.

Barrington also led in that game with 15 points as Walton scored 13, Jacqie Evenson nine and Joanna Parker six.

Kentlake 61, Todd Beamer 30

Todd Beamer found itself looking up at a 20-4 deficit by the end of the first quarter in its non-league opener Monday, Nov. 26.

Mercedes Sullivan scored seven points and Jo Ell Austin and Kaylah Scott tallied six each.

Federal Way 59, Beamer 37

The Federal Way Eagles breezed past Beamer in the Wednesday, Nov. 28 South Puget Sound League non-division game.

Jacqie Evenson led Federal Way to victory with 20 points as Walton threw in 13 and Barrington buried eight.

Kaylah Scott led Todd Beamer with 12 points and Akins added eight.

TJ 69, Emerald Ridge 29

Thomas Jefferson jumped out to a 29-17 halftime lead over the Jaguars before dominating the third quarter, 27-4.

Malamura and Rasmussen led the Raiders in scoring with 11 points each in the Tuesday, Nov. 27 action. Kiyohara added 10 as Nelson-Rivers hit nine. Albrecht and Voellger scored seven apiece.

Mt. Rainier 60, Decatur 38

Sarah Martinez scored 20 points to lead Mount Rainier to its non-league victory Thursday, Nov. 29.

Melissa Yapp added 11 points, Lyndsay Breed nine and Marisa Blair eight.

Sarah Quantz put in 19 for Decatur and Yonnie Coleman 11.

Boys basketball

TJ 61, White River 50

Thomas Jefferson cruised past White River Tuesday, Nov. 27. Sydney scored 17 points to lead the team as Moss swished in 11, Cameron 10 and Radford seven.

Decatur 73, Post Falls 40

Jerron Smith swished in 22 points for the Gators in their Thursday, Nov. 29 game as Darious Walker 12 hit 12, Marcus Tibbs 11 and Jordan McCloud nine.
